It was as boring as "Family Affair". It is not clasic crap like so bad it is good.
It. Is. Just. Dull.
Burping a baby is a big deal on the show.
Just thinking about it makes me want to scream.

You have given me bad memories. I hope it was worth it and you never subject yourself to the ennui (look it up) that is "Julia".

Sorry, didn't mean to bring bad memories. BTW, I just ordered
Good Morning, World from Amazon. com. I liked the show at 15 so let's see how funny it is at 56.

Dont know if is one of the worst ever, pretty much just a typical nondescript 60s sitcom.Only reason why is remembered so much is because was the first show to feature a Negro as the main character in a non Uncle Tom / Amos & Andy type role.

My dad usually likes 1960's TV, heck he even likes "My Mother The Car" and "Gilligan's Island", but always mentions "Julia" as a "sickly sweet irritating sitcom". He actually says that he cannot name any other show he saw in the 60's/70's/80's that he dislikes more.

I dimly remember the show. Yes, it was groundbreaking because it showed an African American in a non-stereotypical role, but Star Trek did the same thing, earlier. One thing I distinctly remember about "Julia" that made it REALLY ahead of its time is that it was a sitcom that didn't have a laugh track. For the time, that was pretty creepy.

Sorry, but ironically, one of those so-called "stereotypical" sitcoms, "The Beulah Show" didn't use a laugh track and it aired in the early 1950's. Other 1950's sitcoms without laugh-track include "I Remember Mama" (drama-sitcom), "The Trouble with Father", and of course the much-loved Jewish sitcom "The Goldbergs" (a sitcom with dramtic elements). I'm pretty sure the 1947-1950 sitcom "Mary Kay and Johnny" didn't feature a laugh-track, but I'm not 100% sure (little footage remains).

I bow before you because, darn it, it's YOU! But I have to say that, well, Golly, it's not like I said "Juluia" was the FIRST sitcom to do without a laugh track, right? Oddly enough, Bill Cosby had his first sitcom on NBC at about the same time as "Julia" and HE tried to do it without a laugh track. Thus endeth the sermon, although Wikipedia probably has more to say on the subject. So does Harlan Ellison, now that I brood on the subject. Anyway, you responded to something I wrote; this makes me just a little cool.

Look, I am autistic, so stop expecting me to be able to spell. The Australian education system stopped teaching around Grade 5.

How about "Love on a Rooftop". The stars were Peter Duiel(?)an Judy Carne. It also had a young Rich Little. Tje show was on ABC. The show's knockoff was on NBC"Occasional Wife".
